I loved Lego in the 1980's-90's. The COVID-19 pandemic left me with a lot of time indoors so like a lot of people I got back into Lego. A lot of my work is redesigning and improving the old kits from when I was a kid, particularly in the Space theme. I try to keep many of the original parts and design elements while still keeping the sets playable.
Hulkbusters
The builder Ransom Fern used three Lego kits: 76105, 76104, and 76031 to construct improved versions of the Age of Ultron and Infinity War hulkbusters. These are basically those builds, with several modifications. The Age of Ultron Hulkbuster has redesigned shoulders, feet, movable waist, and jackhammer arm. The Infinity War Hulkbuster has a lot of added plating, a new back, and a more enclosed cockpit.

Canti (Red), FLCLDesigned by Caleb L. Small modifications to the waist, back, and feet.
Dix-neuf, Buster Machine No. 19
Soundwave and LaserbeakDesigned by Joe Perez. Modifications to the head, backpack, and legs. The head now stores within the body, although Laserbeak cannot be stored in tape deck mode.
6878 Blacktron Sub-Orbital GuardianThe original model was a nice attempt at a walking mech, but lacked actual legs. I addressed that problem, enclosed the cockpit, and improved the laser cannons. Additional elements include anti-infantry lasers, radar, and overall modular construction, and a transport/storage mode.
ver. 1.3I strengthened the weapon mount, added weapon pods, and improved the legs. New weapons have been designed that can easily be swapped out including anti-air missiles, surface to surface missiles, railguns, anti-air laser, and mortars. The railguns ended up being so heavy that they had to be fixed in place and acnnot rotate.
6887 Blacktron Allied AvengerI stared with those brackets and the idea of a X-Wing-like design. Playing around with hinges produced a stable 45° structure. Lots of inspiration from the Gunstar and Starfury designs. No landing gear though, I view this more as a space-only module that the pod can dock to.
6832 Blacktron Super Nova IIWhile the Allied Avenger looked more for space, I envisioned the Super Nova II as an atmospheric fighter. I used references like the 31039 Blue Power Jet and some fighter MOCs. At one point the build was basically a black YF-23. I ditched the panel windscreen for a bubble cockpit, but after much deliberation decided to kept the split wing design. The plane is held together by two side spars and a dorsal spine onto which the wings, intakes, and doors are mounted. The internal weapon bay can mount 8 missiles, with 4 hardpoints on the wings.
1479 Blacktron Two-Pilot CraftI started by using some wing plates to make an 8x8 octagon with clips instead of the 6x6. After building the controls and adding the windscreens I saw that I had a helicopter-like cockpit developing. Moved the engines from the ventral to the dorsal side and hinged everything so it can fold away for easy storage.
6861-2 Blacktron Super VehicleI initially planned on skipping the Super Vehicle because I think it's a mess of a design and couldn't find a justification for it. I needed a troop carrier and I was thinking about the T-shaped design of the Super Vehicle, specifically what could be placed/deployed along the central 'spine' of the vehicle. An APC became the natural solution.
6933 Spectral StarguiderAnother, "What's this suppose to be?" build. I saw a heavy transport/supply vehicle. The wheel arrangement was extremely strange so I rearranged it to a more familiar cab/trailer setup. My standardized Blacktron pod wouldn't fit, so I built an adapter piece which included the radar dish. I doubled the transport pods and quadrupled the number of 8x8 grid pieces to make a platform capable of supporting them.
6886 Galactic Peace KeeperAt first I wanted to make this a fighter like the Super Nova II, but as I was building and revisiting the original set's design I saw this more of a patrol craft. I started off by offsetting the 6058 cockpit to give it more of a nose. Instead of the weapons hinging out from under the panels, I made the panels rotate to real the weapons. The original set had very unimpressive engines, so I improved those and gave the prison cell a hinge-and-slide deployment system. I finished the craft off in a two-tone blue-and-black color scheme.

6889 Spyrius Recon Robot
I made the robot into more of a tank with an enclosed crew compartment and rotating turret. I took a lot of inspiration from the Bradley Fighting Vehicle in the design. Added a main cannon with a small amount of vertical movement and swapped out an arm for a missile launcher.
1789 Unitron Stark Hawk III imagined this as a spy spacecraft built for speed. I added a lot of elements to the engine/reactor and put a big camera array on the ventral side. The cameras got mounted to wing hardpoints and the detachable cockpit was improved. Added a lot of slopes to cover the exposed studs but also retain the feather-like look.
1787 Uintron Crater CruiserThe three different wheel sizes are a cute design, but needed to be doubled up to make the vehicle more substantial. The rear section was designed as a rotating launch ramp. The jet engines were difficult to find a place for, but eventually I used them as outriggers. The radar dish assembly can hinge into position as well as slide out for replacement.
6938 Exploriens Scorpion DetectorI liked the elements in this set, but there was far too much for one vehicle. I turned it into a standardized buggy and trailer system that I could mount different equipment on. Only have the detector and communication setups, I'll build a magnetic crane arm eventually.
6896 M:Tron Celestial ForagerThis build was heavy influenced by SyBricks build. I really liked the crane and body design. I added the roll cage and redesigned the neon green dishes as stabilizers

2152 Robo Force RoboRaptorHonestly, RoboForce was after my time when I thought that I had grown too old for Legos. However I was still aware of the sets. A robot dinosaur is cool in concept, but the execution left a lot to be desired. When I saw the Dino Mech in 75938, I knew it would be an excellent base to build the Robo Raptor from. Its pretty much a merge of the elements from both sets. I intentionally replaced the pilots helmet with a dark grey one.
