Beadwork
I practice a style of beadwork called off-loom bead weaving. Off-loom work uses only a needle and thread to join beads without the aid of a loom. Each bead is added by hand, one at a time in order to make a piece. There are no knots or glue involved, the ends of the thread are woven back into the piece. Off-loom weaving can produce a variety of shapes and patterns as well a three-dimensional objects. I primary use seed beads to make images, designs, and objects though square, brick, and peyote stitches.
My interest in beading came come a combined love of video game pixel sprites and Native American artwork. My favorite themes are rainbows, watermelons, ice/snow, and honeycomb.
